To Set Licensing and Entitlement for a User
Follow these steps to set the licensing for a user.
Important: The
licensing settings below are intended to be set once, at the beginning of the
project, right after the datasource is created. These settings should NOT be
changed once you start using the datasource. Changing these licensing settings
during production usage of the datasource could result in both organizations
being billed in a billing period during in which the setting was changed. If
you need to change these licensing settings once the datasource is in use,
please contact
Bentley for assistance.
- In ProjectWise Administrator, open the User Properties dialog and then select the Settings tab.
- Expand Administrative node, and then Licensing and entitlement option.
- To apply all license, entitlement, utilization, and any associated costs to access this datasource to this user's organization, enable User provides license, and then click OK.

To apply all of this user's license, entitlement, utilization, and
any associated costs to access this datasource to the organization that owns
the datasource:

Datasource owner provides license, and
then click
OK.
Note: If this setting is enabled but the organization has not been set as the owner organization for the datasource (see Step 4(b)), ProjectWise Explorer users with this setting enabled will not be able to log in, and a warning message appears when the Administrator logs in to the ProjectWise datasource.
- Set the licensing owner organization.
